Okay…I had to do it. I know there are probably many cocktails that are going to be made in reference to Super Bowl LII to be played this Sunday. However, I just couldn’t resist.

There are so many great distilleries out there now a days. But, it just so happens that two pretty damn great ones happen to reside in Philadelphia (Philadelphia Distillery) and New England (New England Distilling). So what better way to embrace the two teams playing in this years Super Bowl than to combine their spirits into one great (and perfectly boozy) concoction.

I tried to not play favorites (my dog is not in this fight). But I will admit that I did utilize Bitterman’s “Boston Bittahs” (sorry Philly fans). While this cocktail contains all alcohol, I think you will find it very smooth and pleasant with citrus on the nose, herbal undertones and almost a chocolatey/buttery after taste. Whether you are cheering for a specific outcome or simply watching for entertainment, the “PatrEagle” is perfect to sip on win, lose or commercial-watching.

How to Make:

  1. Combine all ingredients into a mixing glass filled with ice
  2. Stir until well chilled
  3. Strain into a rocks glass containing a ice sphere (or large ice cube)
  4. Squeeze an orange peel into the liquid and deposit peel into the glass
